egg biryani...

Recipe...
Ingredients..

For frying  egg
  • Oil 2-3 tablespoons
  • Red chilly powder 1/4 tspoon
  • Turmeric powder 1/4 tspoon
  • Black pepper crushed 1/4 tspoon
  • Garam masala 1/4 tspoon
  • Salt to taste
For egg masala
  • Oil 1 tablespoon
  • Chopped onions 2-3
  • Chopped tomatoes 2
  • Chilly ginger garlic paste 2 tspoons
  • Coriander powder 2 tspoons
  • Red chilly powder 1 tspoon
  • Turmeric powder 1/4 tspoon
  • Garam masala 1/2 tspoon
  • Biryani masala 1 tspoon
  • Yogurt 2 tablespoons
  • Chopped cilantro 1/2 cup
  • Lemon juice 1 tablespoon
  • Salt to taste
For dum
  • Fried onions 1
  • Fried cashews 2-3 tablespoons
  • Fried raisins 2-3 tablespoons
  • Chopped cilantro 3/4 cup
  • Lemon juice 2 tablespoons
  • Ghee 2 tablespoons
  • Biryani masala 1 tspoon
Procedure...
  • Hardboil the eggs,peel them and slice each into 3 as shown

  • For frying eggs,heat up a pan on medium flame and add oil into it
  • As oil becomes slightly hot add all the dry ground spices mentioned under "for frying egg"along with salt to taste

  • Place egg slices and flip and cook until both sides turn golden brown


  • Remove eggs into a bowl and add chopped onions into the same hot oil(add 1 tablespoon of extra oil if required)
  • Season it with salt and saute until the onions turn soft and brown

  • Now add chilly ginger garlic paste

  • As its raw smell is gone ,add tomatoes and cook until they becomes tender and mushy and ooze out oil

  • Now add dry ground spices mentioned under "for egg masala"and saute well
  • Now add yogurt,lemon juice and cilantro 

  • Mix well and add fried egg pieces
  • Slowly coat them in the masala and cook for another 3-4 minutes and switch off the flame

  • Now for dum ,take a deep nonstick pot and apply ghee at the bottom
  • Add half of the egg masala and spread half of the ghee rice above it
  • Top it with all the ingredients mentioned under "for dum"(use only half the amount mentioned)
  • Now repeat the same again by layering rest of the egg masala,ghee rice and all other items
  • Cover the lid tightly and seal the edges with aluminum foil
  • Cook on low to medium flame for 10-15 minutes
  • Serve hot with raita,pickle and papad!!!!
