beetroot roti....












Recipe....

Ingredients...

  • Whole wheat flour 1 cup
  • Ground/finely grated beetroot 3 tablespoons
  • Roasted cumin powder 1/2 tspoon
  • Red chilly powder 1/2 tspoon
  • Ghee 1 tablespoon (optional)
  • Oil 3-4 tablespoons
  • Water
  • Salt to taste
Procedure...
  • Initially take a mixing bowl and add all the dry ingredients into it...
  • Mix them thoroughly and then go on adding rest of the wet ingredients
  • Now mix all together ,add enough water and kneed into a smooth dough as shown

  • Now let the dough rest for at least 20 minutes
  • Again kneed it well. And take a medium ball from the dough and roll it into Rotis
  • Repeat the same with rest of the dough
  • Heat a skillet on medium flame and add the roti onto it,flip it and cook on both the sides following the same method as for normal chapatis
  • Cook all the Rotis and serve them hot with raita or curry..
