rice vada/rice dumplings



















Recipe..

Ingredients..

  • Cooked rice 1 cup(if its overcooked it will be more better)
  • Besan/chickpea flour 1/2 cup
  • Chilly ginger garlic paste 2 tspoon
  • Red chilly powder 1 tspoon
  • Turmeric powder a pinch
  • Garam masala 1/2 tspoon
  • Chopped cilantro 1/4 -1/2 cup
  • Chopped curry leaves 2 sprigs
  • Lemon juice 1 tspoon
  • Oil 1 tablespoon
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Water 1 or 2 tablespoons as required to form the dough
  • Oil 2-3 tablespoons for frying dumplings
Procedure...

  • Take a mixing bowl and add in all the ingredients mentioned above
  • Mix them well into a thick dough by mashing the rice and adding little water if required
  • Now heat up a pan on medium heat and pour 2-3 tablespoons of oil
  • Place ur dumplings into it and cook them well on both the sides
  • Serve them hot with salads sauce and green chutney
  • For the most simple salad mix up some sliced onions,deseeded tomatoes,capsicums and spring onions and season it with lime juice, salt and pepper

Tip..
  • In this recipe instead of besan u can use soaked,cooked and mashed chickpeas also
