aloo gajar ki sabji..north Indian cuisine













Recipe..
Ingredients..

  • Potato 1 cut into small pieces
  • Carrots 2 cut into small pieces
  • Oil 2 tablespoons
  • Mustard seeds 1/4 tspoon
  • Cumin seeds 1/4 tspoon
  • Dry whole red chilly 2
  • Tomato 1
  • Green chilly 1
  • Ginger 1 small piece
  • Turmeric powder 1/4 tspoon
  • Red chilly powder 1/2 tspoon
  • Coriander powder 1/2 tspoon
  • Chopped cilantro 2 tablespoons
  • Salt to taste
Procedure...
  • Initially add in tomato,ginger and garlic into a mixer and grind well into a smooth paste


  • Now heat up a pan on medium flame and add oil into it
  • Once the oil becomes hot add in mustard seeds 

  • As it crackles add in cumin seeds and red chilly
  • Saute and add the above Tomato mixture 

  • saute it for 5-6 minutes or until masala starts oozing out oil
  • Now add dry ground spices and salt to taste

  • Saute it for 1-2 minutes and add in veggies

  • Mix well and add 1/2 -1 cup of water enough to almost cover the veggies and close the lid


  • Cook for 7-10 minutes or until vegetables are nicely cooked and turns tender
  • Finally add in cilantro,mix well and serve hot with rice,roti or any Indian bread
