bread pakoras...

Recipe..
Ingredients..

  • Bread slices 3
  • Oil for deep frying
  • Besan/chickpea flour 3/4 cup
  • Corn starch 2 tablespoons
  • Red chilly powder 1/4 tspoon
  • Chopped onion 1 small
  • Chopped green chillys 1
  • Chopped cilantro 2 tablespoons
  • Baking soda 1/4 tspoon
  • Salt to taste
Procedure..
  • Take the bread slices and cut them diagonally through both diagonals to form 4 triangles from each bread slice
  • In a bowl ,add in last 8 ingredients mentioned above
  • Mix them well and add enough water to form a thick batter
  • Heat up a nonstick pan on medium flame and add oil into it
  • As oil becomes hot,dip the bread pieces one by one in the batter and place directly into the hot oil
  • Fry until both the sides turn golden brown
  • Drain on to a kitchen tissue for absorbing excess oil and serve hot with tomato ketchup and tamarind chutney
