capsicum rice....











Recipe...
Ingredients...

  • Boiled and cooked rice 1 cup
  • Capsicum 1 cut into julians (long strips)
  • Oil 2,tablespoons
  • Mustard seeds 1/4 tspoon
  • Cumin seeds 1/4 tspoon
  • Dry whole red chillys2
  • Chopped green chilly 1
  • Chopped garlic 2-3 small cloves
  • Sliced onion 1
  • Sliced tomato 1
  • Red chilly powder 1/4 tspoon
  • Turmeric powder 1/4 tspoon
  • Coriander powder 1/2 tspoon
  • Biryani masala 1/2 tspoon
  • Lime juice 1 tspoon
  • Chopped cilantro 1/2 cup
  • Salt and pepper for seasoning
Procedure...
  • Initially heat up a pan on medium flame and add oil into it
  • When oil becomes hot add mustard seeds and when it pops,add cumin seeds and dry whole red chilly
  • Now add in garlic and green chilly and saute for 2 minutes


  • Now add onion,tomato and capsicum

  • Season it with salt and pepper and saute for 2-3 minutes
  • After that sprinkle some water and cook on low to medium flame for 5-6 minutes until the capsicum becomes tender but yet crunchy
  • At this stage add in dry ground spices and saute well

  • Now add in the rice,lemon juice and chopped cilantro...


  • Mix well,saute for 4-5 minutes and check for the seasoning
  • Delicious capsicum rice s ready to be served with raita,papad and pickle
Tip..
  • Here I have used green capsicum..u can go ahead and use yellow or red according to ur choice....u can also use three of them together to make the recipe more colorful... In that case use 1/3 rd of each colored capsicum
