- Suji/rava 1 cup
- Whisked yogurt for 1 cup
- Turmeric powder 1/4 tspoon
- Chopped green chilly 1-2
- Ginger paste 1 tspoon
- Oil 2-3 tablespoons
- Eno fruit salt 1/2 tspoon
- Chopped cilantro for final garnish
- Salt to taste
For tadka
- Oil 1 tablespoon
- Mustard seeds 1/4 tspoon
- Curry leaves 2 sprigs
Procedure
- Initially in a mixing bowl add suji and yogurt
- Mux well, and if the batter is very thick, add water to get the consistency if idli batter (thick consistency)
- Add in salt,turmeric powder, green chilly,ginger and oil
- Mix everything well and keep the batter aside for at least 10-15 minutes
- After that,greese a microwave safe bowl with oil
- Now at this stage add eni salt to the batter and mix until bubbles firm in it
- Add the batter into the greesed bowl and spread equally
- Microwave for 4-5 minutes and check if it's done by inserting a knife into the dhokla,if knife comes out clean,then the dhoklas are ready,or else microwave for another 1-2 minutes until done
- After taking out from the microwave, cover the dhokla and let it rest for 4-5 minutes
- Then cut it into desired shapes
- For tadka,heat up oil in a pan and add mustard seeds into it,as it crackles add curry leaves and switch off the flame
- Pour the tadka over dhokla pieces and give a finishing touch with a garnish of chopped cilantro!!!!!
Note..
- Dhoklas are also prepared by steaming(as in case of idlis)...so u can prepare these delicious treats even if u don't have a microwave!!!!
